Title: Tablet help
Post by: PapaRussia on March 20, 2014, 01:46:25 PM
I current have a Galaxy S3 Tablet and was wondering if I could get wi-fi on the table by tethering my tablet with desktop using the usb cable that came from the charger, is it possible? Do I need to get a different cable? Some help would be appreciated.

I'd love to help but this is way over my head, sorry :(

Tried googling for the thing you want?

If you're simply asking about the cable then I'd think you'll be fine using the USB cable that came from the charger?

Yes, You can use your Tablet to access the internet on a desktop/laptop which has no access to it.

For Example,

Tablet:============USBCORD============PC

In the tablets wifi options, there should be an option to enable wifi tethering. I'm pretty sure the Tablet will lose Internet functionality while it is active, but the PC should be able to reach a new access point then. After you stop, the tablet gets its functionality again. (may be wrong with the losing internet on the tablet thing, but it shouldn't matter.)

Hope it helps!

I think you're misunderstanding, I need to get the wi-fi to the tablet not the computer.

Oh, well unless your OS has some tethering feature, I don't think so. You can give it a try, but as for Windows 7 I can't find any sort of options. There could be some programs, but I'd have to look it up some more.
