This has been done in the past by Javy (A former Admin) and when she did Science trivia it was extremely popular with people on the servers. I highly recomend doing this compared to some of the other things you have suggested.

Guessing
I don't have much to comment on this, but I highly discourage it as things with more brain power are far better

Random Picking (Each player assigned a number, random.org for outcome)
I like this because it gives everyone a chance of winning and not just those who are smart (or have access to google).

Player who wins that round of smash
This one is pretty obvious and would be recomended as it uses the servers to give out the prizes.

I can't do much for this right now due to time restrictions but would happily help with it in a few weeks (earliest of next week), I could see about renting a shoutcast server and setting up a temporary radio stream where we could do a 'guess the song' competition via a radio stream?

People would be required to name the song and the band/artist in order to win the prize for that round. Let me know what you think and then I'll see about finding some prices to make this possible.

All very helpful thank you. My intentions were going to be, give every player a chance, rather than those who can type quick, or have skills others might now have. The number assigning will be used for higher valued items.

I haven't been very focused on the giveaway. Once this quarter of school is over I will be more focused (or inactive).

It seems i have bit off much more than i can handle. I am not prepared to host this give-away constantly. I do kind of want to start a collection of items. So untill further notice, when i can pick this project back up again, i am labeling this project canceled. The first give-away was a great success, so let's leave off with that, a great success.
