I'm an actual human!!
Obviously this has already been sorted and hopefully won't be an issue in the future - however something I would like to address which hasn't been already:
just the fact that you didn't include a time, like "user will be token banned for x amount of time", almost makes it sound permanent
If we issue a ban from our servers it'll always have a time linked to it unless it's permanent of course, this is always told to the user when it's issued, and may even tell them each time they try and join the servers. Every banned user and the duration of their ban is also shown on the list of banned members.
Server punishments (such as trading bans, token bans, puzzle bans, chat bans, etc) are slightly different - when they are applied, they are active until they are manually removed by a member of staff. Typically we keep punishments applied until either:
(A). We feel it has been applied long enough, there is no defined time period though the period of time can be vary case-by-case and staff-by-staff. This could lead to it technically being permanent but (B) or (C) will cover that.
(B). The offender is able to admit their mistake and promise it won't happen again via a forum appeal. Once this has happened we'll either remove the ban, or announce to the offender how long it'll be before it is removed depending on how long it has been in effect.
(C). The person with the punishment is able to prove their innocence via an appeal, similar to what you did.
B is the most common practice here - once someone has acknowledged the mistake they made then there's no harm in giving them another chance and removing the punishment from their account.
