Title: Community gem voting
Post by: nonSENSE on July 13, 2015, 09:44:33 AM
Community gem voting

It's time for the community to decide on the attribute that should be used for the community-designed gem. We will be going with an unused attribute that cannot yet be found on any of the existing gems.

Each player gets to cast 2 votes to decide which attribute the gem should receive.

The poll runs for a total of 3 days, after which the gem will be added to the game. You can also leave (serious) name suggestions for the gem in this thread.

Will we be able to use the gem upgrade scroll on these?

It's not an ancient gem, so yes, you can use the scrolls on these gems.

Expanding on Marks idea about the -Fragment find, it would technically increase the chance of all other items dropping. Getting half as many frags means that with your drop rate set on, if it rolled for that drop, you have a better chance of getting that drop. You'll still have a high drop rate set if you have two 3 or 4 socket items with those gems/jewels in them, along with less fragments on the third 3 or 4 socket item.

To expand on the fragment thing: The attribute will actually be +% to find Fragments in order to stack with existing attributes (and not be negated by it). However, the functionality of +% Chance to find Fragments will work as such:
- positive percentage = less wooden fragments, more key fragments, same chance for other items
- negative percentage = more wooden fragments, less key fragments

If the winner of the voting is the chance to find gems than the series of gem should be Tanzanite.

"Tanzanite is a one-of-a-kind gemstone unlike any other and can only be found in one place on Earth: the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This gem possesses an exotic velvety blue with a rich overtone of purple, a color unlike any other."

A gem that's one of a kind that allows you to find other exotic gems, sounds good right? Color wise it would be around

I'd say a good name for the jewel would be Alexandrite, a bit uncommon jewel. Mostly known for the hue-changing properties it has.

HP regen would be a nice addition to gems, especially for sanctuary.

Its also sad to see that mainly relic items seem to be useful for regenerating health.

Voted for HP regenerated every 5 seconds and % of Damage Dealt is Converted to Life, it seems they would be useful for Dodgeball and more than likely Sanctuary though I haven't played that too much
