(Thanks to Knoxed for the banner)
I am releasing the tool that I use to make hats for the server so you guys can make your own hats and post them here.
This tool has been updated to work with Garrysmod 13. The tool in the other thread does NOT WORK ANYMORE.
!!!! Important !!!!
- In order to use this tool, you cannot have any other versions of PAC3 by CapsAdmin installed (this also means workshop addons). This tool is a direct modification of PAC3 and will conflict with the original version. Make sure you uninstall any other version!
How to install?
- Download the tool here! (http://moronyard.com/forums/pac3-hatmaker.zip)
- Open the zip file, extract the contents into your addons folder (c:\program files\steam\...\garrysmod\addons) so that you have a folder that says pac3-hatmaker.
- Done! You might need to restart Garry's Mod to use it.
Tutorial:
1) Open PAC through the spawn menu / options tab.

2) Click the "+" icon in the nonDB Hatmaker toolbar.
3) The tree list on the left side will be cleared (all groups and models removed).
4) Create a new 'group' by right-clicking the empty white space in the upper left.
5) Right-Click the newly created group and create a new 'model'.
6) Make sure you have the exact structure as seen in the screenshots. 1 group and 1 model. No more, no less!!!
7) Select a model (clicking the [...] button in the model field opens the spawn menu, where you can right-click and copy a model's path and paste it into the model field)
8) Select the bone you want to parent to (most hats parent to 'head, body attachments might parent to 'spine 1-4')
9) Tick the 'origin fix' checkbox. IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!
10) You can now start making hats; use the position, angles, size and scale fields to adjust the model so the item fits perfectly.
11) After you are done with the positioning, click the little brick to save the settings for the first model (Barney).
12) When you have clicked the little brick, click on the orange arrow pointing to the right (Next Model in line)
- This will change the model to Alyx.
- You need to adjust the settings for this model (repeat step 10)
- When you are done, click the little brick again and then the right arrow (step 11)
- This will change your model to next model in line. Repeat steps 10 & 11 again...
When you have reached the last model (stripped combine) and adjusted all the settings:
13) Click the brick one last time.
14) Click the green puzzle piece once. This will generate a file with all the settings for each model.
15) The generated file can be found in your data folder (garrysmod\data\nonDB\hatsData\YOUR_MODEL\__compiled.txt)
16) Open the file _compiled.txt and check the last line. If it says TRUE, you have all the offsets you need and you are done. If it does not, it means you forgot to generate the offsets for one or several models.

17) If the file says TRUE, you can copy paste the content of the _compiled.txt file into a new post in this thread (http://moronyard.com/forums/index.php?topic=384.0).
If you have any other questions, read the old thread which can be found here. (http://moronyard.com/forums/index.php?topic=70.0)
